Monday’s Music Box; Soundtrack for Surfing: Sufjan Stevens, “Michigan”
Many thanks to Rebecca Moon Ruark, aka Rust Belt Girl for pointing me to this gentleman’s amazing music.
A complex and intriguing album.
Well worth a fully engaged listen, with headphones, preferably.
Serious power here, both musically and lyrically.
Monday’s Music Box: Bones….
….by Miss Rachel Sermanni
The first song I heard by this lovely lady. The words…the words…truly she’s a bard, a poet with an amazing lyrical ear. She a Scot and a fan of Burns and it shows in her writing.
Also, since I seem to be on that kick with my readings, this is an “environmental” recording with Mahogany Sessions. Highly recommended if you enjoy tasty acoustic singer-songwriters.
I have to thank Ms. Tiffany Coffman at The Recovery of Words (a fine poet, singer and sharer of great music as well) for the introduction to Mahogany Sessions. I have delved for many hours in their archives. Time well spent.
