Monday’s Music Box: R. I. P., C. T.

My home town, Saint Louis, lost a Great Jazzman on Saturday,

Clark Terry, trumpeter, flugel horn player and teacher died on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Here’s a great recording of Clark’s quartet with Thelonious Monk as sideman (!) on the Riverside label.

Rest in peace.

  1. I love it – thanks for posting. The way he’s just behind the beat in the beginning phrases – makes you feel eager and relaxed at the same time. And isn’t it just the essence of cool – in a good way. Cool was good then! 😉
