Cracks
Part of it
is having
a slightly
broken heart
all the time.
It is for
us to let
ours crack a
little so
that their’s will
not break quite
so much, not
quite so fast.

This one reminds me of earthquakes. Tiny quakes that release the pressure so they never become catastrophic.

I have a broken heart all the time. I didn’t know it served any purpose. But if it helps another not crash to bits, I’ll stay cracked over here a while longer.

I have a White Knight complex where my daughter is concerned (Maybe all father’s of little girls do?) and my armor has many cracks.

I have the same for my two boys. My big one is 6’2″ and I would still run between him and trouble in an instant. Keep the knighthood thing going forever. It’s good. 🙂

As a friend of mine put it, “I’d through myself in front of a bus for her.” Yup. It’s become a theme for me.
This is actually a facet of a much longer piece I’ve been working on. The girl, the name of the blog, images, valor, honor, integrity, love, the inevitability of pain mixed with the desire to shield and protect. All things I’m sure you grok.
