My Gratitude

In the last couple of weeks two of the wonderful people that read my stuff have nominated/named me for awards/recognition.  I’m afraid that I’m still just getting used to the idea of other people reading my work, much less appreciating it.  I am sincerely moved that anyone would choose to recognize me in this way, but I currently do not have the mental resources or time to follow through with the requirements of the awards.  To be honest, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about receiving awards other than a little embarrassed, in a way.  Not sure I’m ready to talk about myself that much.

I do still wish to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to these folks and say thank you for thinking of me.  I encourage you to see what they are doing and spread the word…

Luke at Blue88 — Luke’s book “Blue 88” is a wonderful piece of surrealist, “shattered” fiction that uniquely and movingly reflects the shattered state of its narrator.  Really a fabulous and poetically told story.

Tsena at succumbing — This lovely lady achieves a level of raw honesty that I strive for and displays a passion and intensity in her writing that I greatly admire.

Thank you both very much.

I hope you take the time to check out their work and I hope that this makes up for my lack of follow-through on the whole award thing…

  1. Congrats well deserved JC. Awards are nice to receive but let’s be real so time consuming or as you say you aren’t quite ready to open yourself up yet. Now if I receive one I thank of course and like you I do a post showing the other nominees & those that gave me the Award. That way I am still acknowledging. ..or you can go the other route and do Panda’s FlungDung award 🙂

  2. I agree, I can’t wrap my arms around the whole thing and choose not too, although I appreciate the sentiment as well. You do deserve the recognition, you have a stand-out blog no doubt. 🙂
